Message from our Honorary Chair
It is my great pleasure to be the Honorary Chair of the Stratford Perth Rotary Hospice “Because You Care” capital campaign.
Participating in the palliative care of a loved one made me understand the impact a residential hospice could have for our community. Death has no timeline. We will all experience loss of someone we love, and I am no exception. The Stratford Perth Rotary Hospice will focus the precious moments families share as someone they love faces the final chapter of their life. Whether young or old, there is no cost for hospice services. It will be a welcoming place where pain is kept at bay to make space and time for whatever can bring joy. A place to live beautifully until death comes peacefully.
Our “Because You Care” campaign has a target of $8.5 million to build and operate the hospice, scheduled to open by spring 2019. To date we have raised $7 million of this goal through the valued support of individual and corporate donors, the provincial government, the City of Stratford and the Rotary Clubs of our region.
There are many ways you can contribute. I encourage you to browse the images and view the stories on this site to learn more about the project, and the ways to make an impact. Request a presentation; host an event; participate in Hike for Hospice; sign up to be a volunteer; or call the office to make a donation.
Help us create a home that will help us all. This will be our community’s hospice – and we will build it together…“Because you Care”.
With heartfelt gratitude,
